ABOUT
Dr. Gayle E. LePosa received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Maryland College Park. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry, earning awards for clinical excellence in primary care and in low vision. She also completed a certificate program in Clinical Medicine. Dr. LePosa completed her residency in primary care at W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. During that time, Dr. LePosa gained experience managing a wide variety of ocular disease patients with corneal, glaucoma, and retinal specialists.
Dr. LePosa briefly worked at Levin Eye Care for a year post residency before joining the ophthalmology faculty at the Johns Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute for six years. Dr. LePosa recently joined the medical staff at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Baltimore and currently cares for Veterans at the outpatient clinic based in Glen Burnie. Since then, Dr. LePosa has also returned to the Levin Eye Care family and sees patients part-time.
Dr. LePosa enjoys presenting at continuing education events and has lectured at several local and national meetings. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves as a reviewer for the Council on Optometric Practitioner Education as well as peer-reviewed medical journals. She spends her spare time with her husband, two children, and their two dogs.
