About
Dr. Karen A. Norman is from Baltimore County, Maryland. After attending Towson University, she followed her father’s path to a doctorate from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where she concentrated her studies in children’s vision, vision therapy and contact lenses.
Dr. Norman began her career with the renowned Dr. Herman Goldberg at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. This clinic was the precursor to the Krieger Eye Institute. She also was in private practice with her mentor and father, Dr. Marvin Kasik, who practiced Optometry in Westminster, Maryland for over 45 years.
Dr. Norman was selected as Director of Optometry at the Veterans Administration Medical Centers and helped to pioneer the eye clinics at Fort Howard, Perry Point, and the Loch Raven VA Medical Centers. This was an excellent opportunity to gain extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment modes of eye diseases and in geriatric eye care. Dr. Norman was also an adjunct faculty for Pennsylvania College of Optometry and supervised both optometric interns and residents.
Dr. Norman then brought her expertise in these areas to practice at the doctor’s office inside LensCrafters in both Marley Station and Annapolis Malls, where she has been performing comprehensive eye care and extensive contact lens fittings for over twenty years. She is a member of the Ocular Nutrition Society and The Contact Lens Society of America.
Dr. Norman enjoys spending time with her husband, her two grandchildren and dachshund, Roxie.
