Dr. Malicdem enjoyed internships at Upham’s Corner and the Dorchester House Community Health Centers in Boston, MA, then back home at the Veterans Administration and the Wilmer Eye Clinic / Johns Hopkins Hospitals in Baltimore, MD.  He continues to keep a pulse on the dynamic profession of optometry by taking continuing education courses associated w/ NSU College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Vision Expo East in New York City.

He has practiced optometry with Strickland Eye Care, Delgado Eye Care, Peepers Eye Care, Barenburg Eye Associates, Baltimore Eye Physicians and the Katzen Eye Group.  He had a private practice, All Eyes On You EyeCare, LLC, a collaboration w/ For Eyes/Grand Vision for a brief time in Nottingham, MD.
His compassion goes beyond the exam room. Dr. Malicdem currently has served as a liaison to the American Optometric Student Association and the National Optometric Student Association. He also volunteers with VOSH – Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. With grants from the Lion’s Club International, Dr. Malicdem organized mission trips to Baharona, Dominican Republic and Chetumal, Mexico.  He has also supported the Maryland Optometric Association in the advancement of the profession as they won a long legislative battle to increase their scope of practice by year 2020.
